Since
1964, our Utah
residential moving company has helped residents across the state organize moves to numerous
destinations around the country and across the globe. But if you’re only looking
to start anew in a neighboring state, here’s a rundown of the top locale for
each of Utah’s border states:
Eagle, Idaho
Although Eagle, Idaho has grown over the last 10 years to a population just shy of 20,000—largely due to the growth of nearby Boise—it has managed to retain its small-town feel. The people are friendly, so you can expect a lot of waving and smiles when you’re out doing some shopping. The schools are great, and you’ll find many cultural offerings throughout town. Lovely neighborhoods, beautiful views, and a plethora of outdoor activities all help land Eagle as our top Idaho destination.
Buffalo, Wyoming
If you’re looking for a small-town vibe with a tinge of nostalgia, consider Buffalo, Wyoming. The downtown area looks like it was plucked straight out of a western. For example, the Occidental Hotel Museum will give you an idea of what the town looked like 100 years ago; but, while a storied history is nice, you’re moving in the present and need to know about the livability of modern-day Buffalo. As you can guess, it’s quite high. Some of its most notable draws include a lower-than-average cost of living and a high school graduation rate that exceeds the state average—an indicator of a thriving local education system, and a must for many parents.
Cherry Hills Village, Colorado
Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could enjoy all the amenities of Denver’s city life without the high cost of living in a major metropolitan area? You can when you move to Cherry Hills Village! With a population of just under 6,000, this municipality boasts a low cost of living, and an even lower crime rate. The schools in Cherry Hill Village have turned out two notable women: Madeleine Albright and Condoleeza Rice. Also, since Cherry Hills Village is just outside of Denver, you’ll have full access to all that the Mile High City has to offer.
Las Cruces, New Mexico
Retiring? AARP has a lot of good things to say about Las Cruces, New Mexico as a potential destination to spend your twilight years. It’s easy to see why: great weather, low cost of living, and lots of things to do! With an approximate population of 98,000, Las Cruces isn’t for those who crave a small-town vibe; but if you want a great mix of activities, events, mountain views, and friendly people, this is your city. It’s a good choice for those looking to network and grow their careers. There are many employers in the city including Virgin Galactic and New Mexico State University.
Sonoita, Arizona
If you don’t mind a cost of living that’s a little higher than the state average, consider using our Salt Lake City interstate movers to make a move to Sonoita, Arizona. The city is home to just over 800 people. Sure, you’ll have to drive a little further to get your groceries or eat out (although there is a coffee shop and a Mexican restaurant in town), but what the city lacks in shopping and dining it more than makes up for with its impressively low crime rate and wonderful schools. Is quiet, safe living your goal? Then Sonoita is just what you’re looking for.
Sparks, Nevada
If you’re
looking for a city where you can raise a family, consider Sparks, Nevada. In
addition to the good schools and relatively low cost of living compared to
other high-profile Nevada cities, Sparks also has plenty of employment
opportunities and lots of activities. Water activities like wakeboarding and
fishing are hugely popular. A water park and the Nugget Casino offer something
for both the kids and the adults. Sparks’ population has more than doubled
since 1980—to over 96,000—and our long-distance
movers in Utah have helped many families add to that tally.
